Karen McKerihan, MSN, NP-C

Karen McKerihan began her nursing career in 1987 after earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. Before moving to the specialty of rheumatology, she gained valuable experience as a registered nurse in labor and delivery and pain management. In 2012, she decided to further her education, earning a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Walden University. Since 2016, she has practiced as a family nurse practitioner specializing in rheumatology. Karen joined Low Country Rheumatology in 2018 as the infusion director, where she continues to lead and expand the infusion department.

Karen is a leader in her field, currently serving as president of the Rheumatology Nurses Society. She is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Infusion Nurses Society, and the Association of Women in Rheumatology.

Karen grew up in India, can speak Hindi, and has a unique passion for playing the bagpipes as a member of the Charleston Pipe Band in her time outside of clinic.
