Ferhana Najam, MD

Ferhana Najam, MD

Dr. Ferhana Najam is a Smyrna-based clinical rheumatologist with over two decades of experience specializing in the management of complex rheumatological conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, systemic lupus, vasculitis, myositis and more. Born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan, Dr. Najam earned a medical degree from Dow Medical College before pursuing advanced training in rheumatology during her fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Now proudly serving patients in Smyrna, Georgia and the greater Atlanta area, Dr. Najam brings a wealth of expertise and a patient-centered approach to her rheumatology practice. Since joining the Atlanta medical community in 2016, Dr. Najam has been recognized for her clinical excellence, earning the distinction of being named one of Atlanta's Top Doctors every year since 2022. This award is a testament to not only her expertise in her field, but also her dedication to providing the absolute best in patient care to residents of Smyrna and surrounding communities.

In addition to medicine, Dr. Najam is a talented artist, currently working on an illustrative rheumatology book designed to make complex medical concepts more accessible and engaging. Residing near her Smyrna practice in Atlanta, Georgia, with her loving husband and two sons, Dr. Najam values family time and enjoys traveling to explore new cultures and experiences.

Nandini Setia, M.D.

Nandini Setia, M.D.

A native of Athens, Georgia, Dr. Setia is dual-certified in rheumatology and internal medicine and is an active member of the American College of Rheumatology. 

Dr. Setia is a Presidential Honors Scholar from New York University, and a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. There, she distinguished herself as a member of the Alpha Upsilon Phi Service and Leadership Honor Society. Her dedication to medical excellence led her to Boston University for her internal medicine residency, where she earned recognition for her contributions to quality improvement and patient safety and was elected to serve as chief medical resident. Dr. Setia then honed her skills in hospital medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, affiliated with Harvard Medical School.

Further specializing in rheumatology, she completed her fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. During this period, she gained experience in managing complex rheumatologic disease, expanding her expertise with additional training in inflammatory eye disease at Will’s Eye Hospital.  Her clinical focuses include rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis and lifestyle modifications to help prevent progression of these inflammatory diseases and improve response to clinical therapy.

Outside of her medical pursuits, Dr. Setia treasures time with family and friends. An aficionado of global cuisine and travel, she relishes the opportunity to experiment with cooking dishes from various cultures.

Douglas White, MD, PhD

Douglas White, MD, PhD

A Milwaukee native, Dr. Douglas White earned a biochemistry degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, spent a year abroad in Madrid, and briefly worked at Genentech before completing an MD/PhD program at the University of Iowa, focusing on T cell immunity. He trained in internal medicine at UT Southwestern in Dallas and in rheumatology at Washington University in St. Louis, where he also conducted postdoctoral research on viral-immune interactions.

Dr. White served as Chair of Rheumatology at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, Wisconsin for 15 years where he also led its rheumatology research laboratory. He also held adjunct faculty roles at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and La Crosse. 

Dr. White has contributed to scientific advancements in immunology and rheumatology, establishing a viral recombineering program and collaborating nationally. Active in the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) since 2011, he has served many roles at the ACR including president, treasurer, and chair of the committee on rheumatologic care. A highly awarded educator and researcher, his work appears in top journals such as Nature and Arthritis & Rheumatology. 

Dr. White joined Articularis Rheumatology Specialists of Atlanta in February 2025, and practices in their Sandy Springs location. In his free time, Dr. White enjoys trail running and spending time with his family.

Courtney Sellers, PA-C

Courtney Sellers, PA-C

Courtney, a native of Atlanta, is delighted to be practicing just a few miles from her hometown after spending several years away. She earned her undergraduate degrees, a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing and a Bachelor of Science in dietetics and nutrition science, from the University of Georgia. After spending time rotating as a medical assistant, Courtney continued her education at Mercer University to become a physician assistant.

Following graduation, Courtney relocated to Gainesville, Florida, to participate in the University of Florida's PA residency in primary care, affiliated with Malcom Randall VA Hospital and UF Shands Hospital. Upon completing her residency, she returned to Atlanta, initially working in family medicine in West Paces before transitioning to a psychiatry practice in Dunwoody.

Courtney is most interested in the management of chronic disease and allowing patients to live the lives they want to live – whether that is with disease modifying medications, joint injections for acute symptom relief, or lifestyle medications with specific dietary and exercise recommendations -- her goal is to make sure her patients have the best possible outcome, in the holistic view.

Outside of work, she enjoys yoga, reading, walking and spending time with her dog Blanche.  She supports and volunteers for a few different dog rescues and shelters in Atlanta.
