At Articularis Rheumatology Specialists of Knoxville, Dr. Kenny Sizemore and his compassionate team are dedicated to providing exceptional rheumatologic care to the Knoxville area community. Located conveniently in the heart of Knoxville, our practice serves patients from across East Tennessee, including Farragut, Maryville, and Oak Ridge. Kenny Sizemore, MD

Kenny Sizemore, MD

Dr. Kenny Sizemore, began his academic journey with a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Alabama, graduating summa cum laude. His academic excellence earned him a place in the prestigious Rhodes scholarship competition. Driven by a passion for medicine, he pursued his medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine. Dr. Sizemore completed his internal medicine residency at Baptist Medical Centers in Birmingham, serving as chief resident from 1989 to 1990, and further honed his expertise with a rheumatology fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia.

With over 30 years of experience, he has dedicated his career to rheumatology in Knoxville, Tennessee, treating the broad spectrum of complex rheumatologic conditions encompassed in his specialty. Dr. Sizemore is deeply committed to improving his patients’ quality of life, blending advanced medical knowledge, compassion, and exceptional interpersonal skills to provide care that places his patients' needs at the forefront of his practice.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Sizemore enjoys spending quality time with his family. A lifelong learner, he finds joy in literature and history, and his love of music spans nearly every genre. He has a soft spot for dogs, particularly dachshunds. A devoted fan of his alma mater the University of Alabama, Dr. Sizemore can often be heard enthusiastically cheering “Roll Tide!” as he follows his beloved sports teams.

Tiffany Steelman, FNP-BC

Tiffany Steelman, FNP-BC

Tiffany Steelman earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and continued her education at Vanderbilt University, graduating as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC).

She spent 12 years working in family practice and internal medicine before joining Rheumatology Associates of East Tennessee (now Articularis Rheumatology Specialists) in 2019. Her interest in rheumatology was sparked during her time in internal medicine, where she recognized the profound impact rheumatic diseases have on a patient’s quality of life. Motivated by a desire to provide better patient care, she chose to specialize in rheumatology where she focuses on combating the many symptoms of rheumatic conditions through disease-modifying medications, joint injections for acute symptom relief, and lifestyle modifications, including personalized dietary and exercise recommendations.

Tiffany is an active member of the Rheumatology Advanced Practice Providers, the Association of Women in Rheumatology, and the Tennessee Rheumatology Society. Outside of her professional life, Tiffany enjoys staying active through working out, spending quality time with her husband and two children, and participating in her local church community.

Katherine Clark Runyan, PA-C

Katherine Clark Runyan, PA-C

Katherine Clark Runyan earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee and went on to earn a Master of Public Health in Physician Assistant Studies from South College in Knoxville, TN.

She has been practicing rheumatology in the Knoxville area since 2015. Passionate about advancing the field, she serves as the Tennessee co-chapter leader for AWIR (Association of Women in Rheumatology) and is an active member of TRS, RhAPP, TAPA, and AAPA. She also mentors future PAs as a preceptor for local PA programs and has guest lectured on rheumatology at several conferences put on by her alma mater as well as the Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants.

In addition to her professional contributions, Katherine was the 2024 Jingle Bell Run Honoree and is a dedicated advocate for the Arthritis Foundation. Outside of work, she and her husband enjoy life in Knoxville staying busy with their two children and three dogs.

Sarah Stephenson, FNP

Sarah Stephenson, FNP

Born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, Sarah Stephenson graduated cum laude from The University of Tennessee in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She began her nursing career as a registered nurse at Parkwest Medical Center, where she worked in the Critical Care Unit. Driven by a passion for advanced patient care, she pursued her Master of Science in Nursing at Lincoln Memorial University, graduating in 2013. Sarah has been specializing in rheumatic conditions and treatment options since 2015 when she joined a private rheumatology practice in Louisville, Kentucky. In 2019, she returned to her hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee, where she joined Rheumatology Associates of East Tennessee (now Articularis Rheumatology Specialists).

Sarah is an active member of the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the Association of Women in Rheumatology (AWIR), Rheumatology Advanced Practice Providers (RhAPP), and the Tennessee Rheumatology Society (TRS). Outside of work, she cherishes time with her husband, son, and golden retriever, Riley. You can often find her at the baseball park cheering on her son, cheering on the Atlanta Braves, or attending University of Tennessee athletic events.

Lora Cooper-Yoakum, FNP

Lora Cooper-Yoakum, FNP

Lora Cooper-Yoakum earned her bachelor's and master's degree in nursing and a bachelor's in biology from South College in Knoxville, Tennessee. She then received a degree as a certified family nurse practitioner and was also a nursing professor. Lora brings a wealth of expertise to both clinical practice and academia.

With extensive experience in internal medicine, primary care, oncology, and rheumatology, Lora focuses on disease management through advanced therapeutic interventions and patient education. Her commitment to excellence is evident in her ability to diagnose and treat a wide array of rheumatologic conditions, employing innovative diagnostic and therapeutic strategies to improve her patient’s quality of life. Beyond clinical work, Lora has designed advanced nursing courses, equipping future healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the dynamic field of nursing.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Lora cherishes time with family and enjoys the outdoors, often hiking, or simply walking out in nature. Passionate about her community, she is actively involved in helping the less fortunate and volunteering. Lora’s love for helping others extends to leading a drama dance team for local youth, caring for neighbors, and coming to the aid of abandoned pets.
